Simply unroll the paper towel seed tape on top of an inch of planting mix, and then cover with enough mix to bury the seeds tape at the proper depth, as recommended on the seed packet. Water everything well after seeding, and you will see the paper towel disappear in a short time as it dissolves away.

Mother Nature can be frosty

It has become tradition for me to plant my garden up to two weeks prior to the “normal” planting date where I am located in Minnesota. I will not venture to give you a planting date because it varies, of course, depending on your latitude and your local climate. I can tell you that with a Straw Bale Garden you can plan to plant up to two weeks or more prior to the date you would normally venture to get out into the garden to plant. The reason we are able to plant into a Straw Bale Garden so much earlier is entirely due to the “greenhouse” we will erect immediately after planting.
